Main food prep area rearranged to create tighter work triangle; granite countertop and granite composite sink; separate bar prep sink; custom travertine tile backsplash with rope beading and pyramid accent pieces; existing wall and base cherry cabinets; new maple island cabinets, with trim doors on sides to compliment functional doors on front; double drawer dishwasher (one drawer for small loads; both drawers for larger loads); push button sink food disposal; drop in stovetop, rearranged from island to perimeter wall; double wall oven; contemporary wall cooktop vent; base-cabinet mounted microwave drawer; LED accent lights under all wall cabinets, and behind wine rack; fluorescent accent lights above wall cabinets; all lighting, and each appliance, are on a separate circuit.

Kitchen makeover, using existing wall and base cabinets: removed valance and installed wall-mounted light over sink; removed existing island and installed new, more functional island, including pull-out trash drawer; new microwave, cooktop and oven; island is on individual electrical circuit; granite countertops; new stainless sink and bronze faucet; two granite end bookshelves on base cabinets; ceramic floor; skylight.
